Summary

The ALTO working group session at IETF 112 reviewed the status of several documents, including two drafts with open issues from IESG last calls. Discussions covered proposed solutions to these issues and the path forward. New charter items, ALTO YANG models for OAM and new transport protocols (HTTP/2, HTTP/3), were presented with initial design considerations and proposed work plans. Additionally, three non-charter items provided updates on ALTO deployment experiences (G2, Flow Director) and explored potential new use cases for ALTO, such as an IETF Network Exposure Function, Compute-Aware Networking, and Bandwidth Estimation as a service.
