Summary

The lamps working group session covered updates on several drafts, including CMP, Lightweight CMP, and CMP Algorithms, with decisions made on progression paths and URI structures. Work in progress such as Document Signing EKU, RFC 3709bis, and RFC 8410 Key Usage Clarifications are moving towards Working Group Last Call or IESG review. A significant discussion occurred on Header Protection for S/MIME, where the design team presented a new approach for legacy client display and sought feedback on policy recommendations and implementation concerns. The session also initiated discussions on addressing ambiguities in RFC 7030 CSR attributes and the complex challenges of integrating Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) keys into existing certificate and key management infrastructures due to key size and legacy system constraints. A virtual interim was announced to cover remaining agenda items.
