Summary

The DANCE working group met to discuss the status of its core protocol documents and explore new use cases. The DANCE architecture document has been adopted. Key discussions revolved around the DANE TLS client authentication and TLS extension documents, specifically addressing differences in TLS 1.2 vs. 1.3 implementation, the necessity of TLS 1.2 support, and the potential need for a new TLS extension to solicit client certificates. The group also heard presentations on leveraging DNSSEC and DANE for digital identity trust registries and for securing communications in Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) within the Drip context. A significant outcome was the decision to pursue a standalone draft for a TLS extension to solicit client certificates.
